With Pakistan’s political scenario at a fever pitch, many wonder who would win Pakistan’s February 8 general elections. The recent decision by the country’s top electoral authority has already weakened the beleaguered party and eyebrows over the standing of the PTI in the elections.

Although many experts believe that the party founded by Khan has a slim chance in the 2024 elections after the court order and cases against the former prime minister some believe that the party could not be ruled out.

We asked the artificial intelligence platforms – Bard, ChatGPT, and Bing AI – who would win the general election in Pakistan in 2024? And this is what we received.

Bard

According to Bard, it was “impossible” to predict with certainty who would be the winner in the 2024 general election. It described Pakistan’s political landscape as “highly dynamic”.

Bard, a Google AI platform, was of the view that the PML-N government’s performance, political alliances, coalitions, emergence of new political actors, and unforeseen events were some of the factors that could influence the outcome

It added that ex-PM Khan was still a strong contender despite legal troubles while the PML-N faced the challenge of building on its achievements and tackling voter fatigue.

The AI stated that the Pakistan Peoples Party might look for alliances to expand its national reach. It went on to add that smaller parties could play “kingmakers” and new alliances could emerge in the run-up to the polls.

Many politicians have used the term “King’s party” for parties formed after a crackdown on protesters following the May 9 events.

“Instead of focusing on a single victor, it’s more useful to track the evolving political scene, observe how major parties address key issues, and monitor trends in public opinion,” it said.

ChatGPT

ChatGPT apologised to us as it could not foresee future events.

“Election results are influenced by a complex interplay of factors such as political developments, public opinion, and unforeseen events,” it said and advised that reliable sources of information should be followed to know about the latest developments.

Bing AI Chat

For Bing AI Chat bot, it was too early to say anything. But it was aware of the election date. It was of the view that PTI, PML-N, and PPP were the three major parties.

“It is difficult to predict the outcome of the election as it is still a few years away and many factors can influence the results,” it said.
