Pakistani general awarded Jordan’s military honor

Jordon has bestowed a Pakistani general with one of the highest military honours of the country.

Jordanian King Abdullah Ibn Al Hussain conferred the medal ‘Order of the Star of Jordan’ to Pakistan’s Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mira in recognition of his meritorious services.

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza is on an official visit to Jordan.

The Chairman JCSC called on His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussain.

During the meeting, both dignitaries discussed various areas of interest including, bilateral politico-diplomatic and military cooperation and the prevailing regional security situation, according to a release by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR)

The Chairman JCSC also held separate meetings with Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hnaity, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff, Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) and Brigadier General Muhammad Hyasat, Commander of the Royal Jordan Air Force.

The Order of the Star of Jordan or The Order of Hussein ibn Ali is an award and military decoration of the sovereign state of Jordan and is awarded for military or civil merit. It was founded in honour of his father, by King Abdullah I on 22 June 1949
