Former special assistant to ex-prime minister Imran Khan on parliamentary coordination Nadeem Afzal Chan has refused to testify against Khan in court.

“I want to clarify that NAB [National Accountability Bureau] sent me notice twice and summoned me so I had to go. I told them everything that happened in the cabinet,” he said in a video that he posted on his X account on Saturday.

Earlier, sources said that at least two ministers of Khan’s federal cabinet and a former special assistant testified against him in the £190 million settlement case.

Chan, former defence minister Pervez Khattak, and former minister of defence production Zubaida Jalal were among those who testified against the former prime minister in the case, they added.

According to Chan, he used to warn the former prime minister that “Shehzad Akbar was a fraud” and would create problems for him.

“When he [Khan] was in power, I used to tell him these things. However, he is in jail now and my school of thought is not that of talking against someone who is oppressed or incarcerated,” he stated.

Chan said that he told the NAB team whatever happened during the cabinet meeting regarding the £190 million settlement case, however, he will not testify against the PTI founder in court.

“I am not ready to testify in court. I cannot testify against a politician,” he added.
