Abu Dhabi: Massive fire erupts at Yas Island construction site

A large fire broke out at a construction site on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi on March 28, 2025, causing significant concern.

Videos circulating on social media showed thick plumes of black smoke rising from the area at 2:00pm, which was near Yas Waterworld.

Emergency services, including Abu Dhabi Civil Defence, responded swiftly to the incident. Firefighters worked to control and extinguish the blaze, and according to official reports, the fire was brought under control within a reasonable timeframe.

While the initial reports indicated the fire was near Yas Waterworld, it was later confirmed that the fire originated at a construction site in the vicinity.
