The Counter Terrorism Department in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has said that as many as 51 women have been suspected of involvement in several crimes including terrorism in the last nine years.

The CTD list, available with Aaj News, showed that the women were accused of crimes including terrorism, kidnapping, target killing, extortion, and terror financing since 2014.

Out of the total 51, as many as 30 women were nominated in cases related to terrorism, 13 were named in cases of kidnapping and three were suspected of target killings.

Three women were nominated in cases of terror financing and two were booked in extortion cases in the province.

DIG CTD Imran Shahid said that the intelligence agency and the law enforcement agencies were facing difficulties in the arrest of these female terrorists due to cultural and traditional values and also because there was almost no source linked with the female criminals or terrorists, Associated Press of Pakistan reported.

He said that cases were registered in different police stations against these female terrorists and some cases were in process in different courts.

The document revealed that cases of terrorism were registered against 18 females in different police stations of Peshawar, adding that nine females were acquitted in the cases while the cases of others were in the courts.
