Army’s media wing says arms, ammunition and explosives were recovered from site

At least eight terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces in the general area of Sararogha in the South Waziristan district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday, the Inter-Services Public Relations said.

“The terrorists who were killed remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces as well the innocent civilians,” the army’s media wing said in a statement.

Security forces conducted the intelligence based operation on the reported presence of terrorists.

Arms, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the site, it added.

“Sanitisation operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country,” the statement said.

Earlier this week, two soldiers were martyred as an improvised explosive device exploded on a convoy of security forces in the Razmak area of the North Waziristan district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

They were identified as Lance Naik Ehsan Badshah, 33, a resident of the Karak district, and Lance Naik Sajid Hussain, 30, a resident of the Kurram district.

On Thursday, the Formation Commanders Conference resolved that all terrorists, their facilitators, and abettors, working on the behest of hostile forces to destabilise Pakistan will be dealt with the full might of the state.
