Punjab government made wearing of masks mandatory in 10 smog-hit districts to prevent adverse effects of air pollution on people’s health.

Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi made the announcement about masks on Sunday, adding that the mandate would last for one week.

“Prioritising health is our collective responsibility. Please adhere to the guidelines for a safer community,” Naqvi wrote in the tweet.

The notification posted by Naqvi says that citizens shall ‘wear face mask during all kind of outdoor activities’.

The mandatory mask rule will apply to the same ten districts including Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Hafizabad and Mandi Bahauddin.
