The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has accepted the resignation of Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq. He had parted ways from PCB on October 30 after allegations were revealed against him about his alleged partnership in a company.

The former star cricketer resigned as chief selector following reports of “conflict of interest” and said he didn’t step back from his designation due to the performance of the national cricket team in the World Cup 2023.

Sources revealed that the PCB accepted the resignation of Inzamam-ul-Haq due to his statements against the cricket board in media interviews.

Earlier, the PCB had set up a five-member investigation committee to address the conflict of interest regarding the team selection process. Still, they did not accept the resignation of Inzamam.

The Pakistan Cricket Board spokesperson confirmed that PCB Management Committee Chairman Zaka Ashraf approved the resignation chief selector.

Complaining about the PCB’s lack of response to his email, Inzamam said that his lawyer had emailed the board saying, “Summon us if you need us,” but there had been no response.

PCB had confirmed that they had received Inzimam’s resignation and would respond soon.

In various interviews, the former chief selector had also criticized PCB and the three-month extension of the management committee headed by Zaka Ashraf.
