Authorities make raids to arrest Bushra Bibi’s brother
Punjab’s Anti-Corruption Establishment has carried out raids to arrest Ahmed Mujtaba, brother of former first lady Bushra Begum, on Saturday night in connection with a corruption case.
Reports said that the raids were made in Sahiwal, Okara and Pakpattan late on Saturday night.
The raids were carried out at the houses of former members of provincial and national assemblies but no arrests were made.
The MNAs whose houses were raided included Rai Hassan Nawaz and Murtaza Iqbal. The house of former MPA Naeem ibrahim and political leader Saleem Sadiq were also raided.
However, in each case the men managed to get away and avoid arrest, a statement from ACE said.
Mujtaba is wanted by the ACE for a corruption scandal opened in 2022 which accuses him of giving government land on lease through a front man.
