Attock Jail authorities asked a civil court in Islamabad to exempt Imran Khan from appearing for a case on the basis of security concerns.

Civil Judge Qudratullah had issued orders for the former prime minister to be produces in court for a case regarding his nikkah with Bushra Begum on Monday.

However, Attock Jail’s superintendent said that some untoward incident could take place en-route to Islamabad.

The superintendent added that even the hearings for cipher case are held within the jail compound instead of bringing Khan to Islamabad due to seurity concerns.

The PTI Chairman was arrested on August 5 after an Islamabad court found him guilty of corrupt practices. While in jail, he was also arrested in the cipher case registered under the Official Secrets Act.
