International democracy day being observed today
International Democracy Day is being observed globally on Friday, an event that aims to promote good about the democratic system and encourage countries to enforce this governmental process.
‘Empowering the Next Generation’ was a theme for the day suggested by the UN, which means to encourage young people to be involved in the democratic process so they can have their voices heard.
In 2007, during the session of the general assembly, it was decided that September 15 would be observed as a day of democracy when global leaders accepted the need for human rights restoration.
