Rupee gains big in open market, loses in interbank trade
The rupee strengthened against the dollar in the open market as the greenback declined by Rs5 on Tuesday, dealers said. The dollar was available at Rs322.
Meanwhile, the foreign currency continued its flight in the interbank foreign exchange market as the rupee declined by Rs1.46 during midday trading and closed at Rs307.10.
The greenback closed at Rs305.64 in the previous session.
The Pakistan Stock Exchange opened on a positive note as the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained 118.36 points, or 0.26% to reach 45,825.78 levels during the intraday trading.
But it closed at 45,491.48 after losing 215 points.
