Court cancels interim bail of PTI’s Qureshi over absence
An anti-terrorism court in Lahore cancelled the interim bail of PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi in six different cases in the May 9 riots due to his absence from the hearing.
The court also cancelled Fawad Chaudhry’s interim bail in the PML-N office attack case.
The Naseerabad and Model Town had booked Chaudhry for setting police vehicles on fire at Kalma Chowk and vandalism at the PML-N office.
Qureshi has been booked in six cases including the Core Commander House attack and Askari Tower attack case on May 9.
The PTI vice chairman is currently in jail in a case related to the cipher under the Official Secret Act.

On August 28, a special approved the extension of Qureshi’s physical remand for another two days after his three-day extension of remand expired in the US cipher case.
Special Court Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain conducted in-camera hearing on the case.
Qureshi’s physical remand was extended on August 25 for three days in the case under Sections 5 and 9 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923. He had been produced before the court after the expiry of his initial physical remand for four days.
