Islamabad reports 7 dengue cases

The health department has detected seven new cases of dengue in the federal capital territory of Islamabad.

The health officials said after the detection of new cases reported within 24 hours, the total number of cases from the mosquito-borne disease rose to 28.

Most of those affected with the virus were men, they said.

Dengue cases on the rise in KP

The rise in dengue cases in Islambad follows reports that dengue was spreading in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Dozens of people have been admitted to hospital in recent weeks.

Mardan division is one of the badly affected region in the province.

After the insurgence in cases, Commissioner Mardan Division Yousaf Rahim directed the district administration of Mardan and Swabi to ensure strict implementation of the dengue action plan of the provincial government to prevent dengue fever.
