Many foreign graduates protested outside the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council in Islamabad on Tuesday against the date of the admission test to medical and dental colleges (MDCAT).

No country in the world has a passing percentage of 70%, the protesters said and wondered why foreign graduates were graduates were treated in “such a way”.

The parents of the students also participated in the protest. They lamented that they spent all their savings on the dreams of their children and they were not being given the licence.

The protesting students asked on whose orders the passing marks were increased.

The MDCAT is mandatory for aspiring medical and dental students. It serves as the gateway to public and private Medical and Dental Colleges across the country, allowing eligible candidates to embark on their journey into the medical field.

“The recommendation of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Health was placed before the council wherein, it has been decided by the members to conduct the MDCAT Examination 2023 on August 27,” the PMDC announced on August 11.

The decision was taken keeping in view the arrangements already made at large across the country by all provincial governments/admitting universities.

#DelayMDCAT2023 was among the top trends in Pakistan after the PMDC announced the date of the MDCAT exam.

Many wondered the reason for such a rush for announcing the date
