Dollar rises by 46 paisas against rupee in interbank
The Pakistani rupee declined by 46 paisas against the dollar in the interbank foreign exchange market on Monday, the first trading day of the week.
The greenback was trading at Rs287.43 at the closing of the interbank market, compared with the closing of Rs286.97 on Friday, August 4.
At the open market, the foreign currency surged by Rs2 to reach Rs294.
The Pakistan Stock Exchange also recorded a volatile session where the market moved both ways amid uncertain domestic political and economic conditions in the country.
The benchmark KSE-100 Index shed 199.46 points, or 0.41%, to close at 48386.25 levels. Similarly, the KSE-30 Index shed 122.68 points, or 0.71%, to reach 17247.45 points at the closing of the market.
