PTI senators protest Imran’s arrest during session

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s senators protested against Imran Khan’s arrest during the session on Sunday.

The PTI members raised slogans and walked out of the session. Hte later returned with black bands on their arms.

Pakistan Peoples Party Bahramand Tangi strongly criticised the protest saying that Imran Khan had no right to be called a leader. He added that if Imran Khan was indeed a leader he would still have four governments in Pakistan.

PTI senators broke into slogan’s during Tangi’s speech.

Senator Saifullah Abro said that Imran had been arrested to keep him out of the elections. However, he added that anyone thinking they could win elections by keeping Imran out was deluded.

He added that elections will only be held once the PTI was banned.

Law Minister Azam Tarar replied that the the PTI chief had concealed income in his tax returns. He added that Imran had lied under oath and had been caught.

He added that Imran had been sentenced under the law and still enjoyed the right of appeal in the Supreme Court and High Court. He said that Nawaz Sharif and Yousaf Raza Gillani have also received sentences in the past.
