New visuals revealed from May 9 riots
New visuals from the violent protests of May 9 have now been revealed, showing that protetors not just attacked military installations but did not even spare educational institutions.
Many of the visuals came from the mobile phones of those involved in the protests.
The Pak-Emirates hospital building was vandalised and the stand by generat room also set on fire.
The damage to generator deprived the hospital of electricity affecting the hospital’s emergency ward, ventilators as well as children’s incubators.
The Canteen Stores Department in Lahore was also looted during the protest and the rioters made away with Rs2 million.
Protestors also attacked the Army Institute of Military History which carried records of Pakistan army’s history and wars. Many valuable items were destroyed.
Multiple bases including the GHQ in Rawalpindi and MM Alam Airbase in Mianwali were attacked. Lt Sajjad Alam’s memorial monument was also vandalised and protestors sprayed the PTI chairman’s name on the wall.
