PM Shehbaz condemns Imran Khan for ‘continued’ sinister campaign against Gen Asim
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif claimed on Sunday that former Prime Minister Imran Khan was behind sending assassination threats to Army Chief General Asim Munir through ‘proxies’.
“Imran Khan continues to engage in a vile, sinister & malicious campaign against COAS General Syed Asim Munir,” he tweeted on Sunday.
“His trick of using the proxies to threaten the Army Chief of an assassination attempt has been badly exposed,” he added.
Shehbaz added that after Imran’s ‘methodically’ planned attack on state institutions had failed he was now trying to ‘coerce’ his way into power.
The prime minister also added that the PTI chairman was exposing himself by putting personal interests over the interests of the nation.
“The people of Pakistan and the political parties stand behind their Army Chief & the armed forces like a rock & will thwart any attempt and conspiracy at undermining their prestige, honour and integrity,” he added.
