Pakistan asks India to provide accurate water date to prevent floods
Indus River System Authority has written a letter to Indian authorities asking for correct data regarding release of water into Pakistan to be supplied.
The letter has asked India to provide accurate data about the release of water well ahead of time, so Pakistan can make preparations regarding flood. The letter has also told India to avoid a violation of the Indus Water treaty.
Sources told Aaj News that water levels in Pakistani rivers are rising amid reports that India could be releasing excess water in rivers Ravi, Sutlej, Jhelum and Beas.
The letter has also told Indian authorties that they must allow Pakistani officials to tour under-construction water projects. The visits are scheduled in August and September this year.
