SJC starts proceedings against Justice Mazahir Naqvi in misconduct case
The Supreme Judicial Council has formally initiated proceedings on the complaints against Justice Mazahir Naqvi in a misconduct case that involve serious allegations against him.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial has forwarded the complaints against Justice Naqvi to the Members of the Supreme Judicial Council.
On February 23, Mian Dawood Advocate sent a reference against Justice Naqvi to the Secretary SJC, requesting to investigate the properties of the SC judge and his family.
Justice Mazahir Naqvi has assets worth more than Rs 3 billion including a one kanal plots in the Federal Employees Housing Society, in the Supreme Court Housing Society, a two kanal and 4 marla plot in Gulberg III Lahore, a four kanal plot in St. John’s Park Lahore Cantt, and an undisclosed plaza in Gujranwala Allied Park.
It was alleged in the reference that Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi allegedly amended the annual returns three times in 2021, the statements were amended to adjust the value of the house in Gujranwala DHA.
