Bilawal not ready to become PM: Zardari
Former President Asif Ali Zardari told elders from his tribe on Monday that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is not ready to become prime minister.
Speaking to members of the Zardari tribe in Nawabshah’s Zardari House, the former president said that he hoped they would support Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari the same way they had supported him.
“You stayed with me after the death of my father, you must stay with Bilawal and Aseefa after me,” he said.
He added that he hoped to see his son become the prime minister within his life time but Bilawal is ‘not ready’.
Zardari said that he had joined hands with PML-N and other Pakistan Democratic Movement parties to save the country from Imran Khan. However, he also said that he was only a part of the government and the current government could not be labelled as his.
He told the supporters that his party did not have any key ministries through which to help people, mentioning finance and Pakistan International Airlines by name. However, he said that he would try to help people through the ministries that they did hold.
He said that if elected again, the People’s Party would once again ‘serve people’ as it had done during Benazir Bhutto’s government in the past.
