A complaint has been sent to the chairman of the Capital Development Authority, claiming that a nullah was sold to two men while the area had been marked as a farm plot.

The complaint has been filed by two men named Imran and Sabir Hussain and says that they paid Rs20 million for agro farm plot number 37-C in CDA’s 2023 auction. Soon after the bid was placed, they were told that the location where the plot had been marked was not accurate. They added that the location had been shown on Google Maps on the brochure.

The complainants said that when the raised questions about the plot’s clean possession in the auction committee, they were given a positive response which turned out to be fals later.

The marked area is actually a 50-feet deep nullah where sewerage water often drains as well. It is surrounded by 8-10 village houses who have obtained a stay from the courts, the complaint says.

The men say that after the process was completed, they were told that the plot’s brochure said that the plot was on an ‘as is where is basis’ and their Rs20 million were as good as gone. However, they could get possession of the nullah for another Rs260 million.

The complaint also says that they tried contacting a member of the planning wing of the authority and even tried to stop the bid proposal but to no avail.

The complaint tells the CDA chairman that the matter should be resolved before the Imran and Sabir are forced to approach other forums for justice.

“How can a state institution deceive its own citizen?” the complaint says.
