Katccha robbers kidnapped four people from two vehicles on the Multan-Sukkur Motorway (M-5) near Belo Mirpur Ghotki on Tuesday. They fired shots at the vehicles to stop them.

“Police are tracking down the criminals,” said SHO Amjad Shakoor Lakho.

The abductees were identified as Muhammad Hussain Solangi, Ghulam Shabir Solangi, Farhan and Irfan who were going towards Kashmore, said the police.

They were traveling in a Mazda vehicle.

Police said that criminals also opened fire on a car on its way to Muzaffargarh leaving two injured.

The injured have not been identified yet as they were immediately transported to Rahim Yar Khan for treatment.

Kidnapping occurs near the 64th check post of Sukkur Motorway (M-5).

Bandits take abductees to a riverine area known as the Katccha, said the police.

The latest kidnapping comes two days after four people were abducted from Kandhkot on Sunday, bringing the total tally of abducted people to 17 in a month.
