Multan Sultans skipper Mohammad Rizwan continues his rich form with the bat as he became the only batter in the Pakistan Super League history to score over 500 runs in three seasons in a row.

The wicketkeeper-batter achieved this feat in the qualifier against defending champions Lahore Qalandars at the Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday.

The right-hander scored 33 off 29 with the help of three boundaries on a tricky wicket as Sultans posted 160/5 in their allotted 20 overs. In the replay, the home side were bowled out for just 76.

Overall, he took 11 innings in the ongoing PSL8 to complete 500 runs. Rizwan first scored 500 runs in PSL6, where Multan lifted the title, and then 546 runs in PSL 7.

Since his debut in PSL in 2016, Rizwan has accumulated 1,962 runs in 59 innings in 70 matches. He has hit one century (during the ongoing season) and 16 fifties. Rizwan also has 178 fours and 45 sixes to his name.

He also became the first captain to lead a franchise in three successive finals.
