Imran Khan’s arrest: Supporters’ resistance grabs international media attention
It has been over 20 hours since authorities try to arrest Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan from Zaman Park in Lahore. This high-profile arrest attempt was not only covered in Pakistan but also caught the eye of International media as well.
The event started to unfold at around 2pm on Tuesday when a heavy contingent of police arrived at Zaman Park, Khan’s residence, to arrest him in the Toshakhana case. The warrant was issued on Monday when the PTI chief failed to appear in the case despite repeated assurances.
PTI supporters, who were expecting police, arrived at the scene in large numbers as they continue to resist the authorities, who are trying to arrest Imran Khan.
