Musharraf buried with full military honours
Pervez Musharraf, former army chief and president under martial law, was laid to rest with full military honours in Karachi on Tuesday.
The former president died in Dubai on Sunday after a prolonged illness, aged 79. He had been living in self-imposed exile since 2016.
His body was flown to Karachi on Monday night via special plane, accompanied by his son and wife.

His funeral prayers were offered in Malir Cantt’s polo ground, with a large number of army officials in attendance.
Rangers and police officials were on-duty to ensure strict security. No vehicle or persons were allowed near the funeral ground without security clearance. Traffic police also made special arrangements for the burial.
Politicians and members of the civil society also attended the funerals, including PTI’s Imran Ismail and MQM’s Farooq Sattar.
