Teen Pakistani girl detained for entering India illegally
A teen Pakistani girl was taken into custody for entering India illegally after marrying an Uttar Pradesh man as they fell in love over an online ludo game.
The couple was living in Bangalore since September last year, the police told Indian media.
Mulayam Singh Yadav, 26, met Iqra Jeewani, 15, while playing an online game a few months ago. After falling in love, they made a plan to forge documents so the duo could live together.
“The man used to work as a security guard at a private firm and used to play Ludo online,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Girish said. “Last year, he came into contact with a minor girl. Recently, he asked his Pakistani girlfriend to come to Bengaluru so they could get married. They planned to get her to India through Nepal in September 2022.”
He said the girl has now been taken to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office.
The couple was detained under Section 7(2) of the Foreigners Act and sections 420, 465, 468, and 471 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Moreover, the owner of the house, Govinda Reddy, was also charged under Section 7 of the Foreigners Act, for assisting the couple.
As per Yadav’s statement, he didn’t know that Jeewani was from Hyderabad, Pakistan. After deciding to get married, he asked her to come to Kathmandu in Nepal.
After tying the knot according to Hindu rituals in Kathmandu, the couple reached Bihar on September 28 last year, the Indian Express reported. Yadav, then took Jeewani to Bengaluru and continued to work. He also got her an Aadhaar card after changing her name to Rava Yadav.
