Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah challenged PTI chief Imran Khan to immediately dissolve Punjab Assembly and end this ambiguity, announcing that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) decided to contest the by-polls in case of dissolution of the assembly.

“If the provincial assemblies are dissolved then the by-polls will be held within the next 90 days,” the interior minister said addressing the press conference in Lahore.

His statement came after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) a day earlier announced that the party chief would dissolve Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies till December 20.

Imran Khan has been threatening to dissolve provincial assemblies in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa unless the government announces early elections.

Sanaullah made it clear that the general elections would be held in October of next year.

Commenting on the apology tendered by the British publication to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif regarding allegations of corruption, the interior minister said that the Daily Mail’s apology was a confession that the mastermind behind this lie was Imran Khan who managed the publication of fake news against Shehbaz Sharif.

The minister claimed that Imran Khan tried to blackmail Shehbaz Sharif through Daily Mail.

“A person who used to say that we look at cases, not faces is unable to show his face to anyone since the Daily Mail’s apology,” he said, adding that it had been proven that Imran Khan was a liar as well as a thief.
