Odds against Pakistan making it to ICC Test Championship final
With ICC Test Championship final berth up for grabs, Pakistan are gearing up to host England for the three-match starting from December 01.
The Men in Green will be in action at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, where both teams have started their preparations for the series.
Pakistan, who are in the fifth spot in the points table, will be aiming for their maiden appearance in the ICC Test Championship final.
They do have the advantage of playing all of their remaining five red-ball games on home soil.
If Pakistan win all those remaining matches, they will improve their percentage to 69.05, which would be enough to qualify for a first World Test Championship final.
However, if they drop points, it will make things difficult for them with regards to finishing inside the top two places on the standings.
It is worth mentioning here that the current cycle runs from July 2021 to June 2023 and comprises the top nine Test teams, all of whom will play six series each.
The top two teams will compete in the final, which will be hosted by The Oval in June 2023.
After the first match in Rawalpindi, the action will move to Multan, where both teams will be locking horns from December 09. Karachi’s National Bank Cricket Arena will be the venue for the series finale commencing on Saturday, December 17.
