Imran’s appointed president rejected his conspiracy narrative: Fazlur Rehman
The head of the multi-party alliance the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, said on Wendesday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief’s narrative that a ‘foreign-funded conspiracy’ led to his ouster has been rejected by the president that he had installed.
Addressing a rally in Mardan, Maulana Fazlur Rehman referred to President Dr Arif Alvi’s recent comment while speaking to journalist Asma Shirazi on her show Faisla Aap Ka that broadcast on Aaj News on Monday.
In his interview, the president said he wasn’t convinced that a foreign conspiracy was hatched to engineer Imran’s ouster. Although he said that he had recommended an investigation into the claims, but added that it wouldn’t unearth any smoking gun.
Your [Imran] own president has rejected your foreign conspiracy narrative, said Fazlur Rehman while addressing supporters.
He also alluded the many leaked audios of Imran Khan that have surfaced over the last few weeks, including those in which he can be heard instructing party leaders to use propaganda and lies to drum up public support against his rivals.
“You have been exposed Imran Khan. You will be held accountable,” he said.
Continuing his broadside, he said that Imran’s corruption and thievery had been exposed by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
A case was registered against the former prime minister and 10 others on Tuesday for receiving around $3 million from an offshore company Wootton Cricket. The PTI failed to declare a large chunk of this money with the Election Commission of Pakistan.
‘Not ousted, but brought to power via conspiracy’
Fazl, who is the head of his own faction of the Jamaat-e-Islami, said that it was a conspiracy that brought Imran Khan to power. “He was imposed on us by the Jewish lobby,” he told supporters, adding that Imran took money from India.
“The China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project was not acceptable to the US, which is why they brought Imran Khan to power only to fail.”
