Rana Sanaullah on Punjab’s radar again
The Islamabad’s Secretariat Police Station has refused to comply with the police warrant for the arrest of Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah.
A team of the Punjab Anti Corruption Establishment arrived at the police station on Monday in compliance with the orders of a Rawalpindi court seeking arrest warrants for Sanaullah in an inquiry related to purchasing of plots in a housing society.
Earlier today, senior civil judge of Rawalpindi Ghulam Akbar ordered the Punjab ACE officials to arrest Sanaullah and produce him in front of the court.
Two days ago, the same judge issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Sanaullah after which the Punjab ACE reached Islamabad. But, the police refused to comply with the request as it contained Faisalabad’s address.
The Punjab ACE urged the court to declare the interior minister “absconder” during Monday’s hearing of the case.
But, the court said it cannot declare him an absconder “now”.
