PM Shehbaz refuses to inaugurate real-time flood dashboard

Premier directs to make the dashboard more credible and transparent as per international standards

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Monday refused to inaugurate a dashboard for real-time monitoring of relief being provided to flood-affected people after pointing out missing updated data.

The premier was attending a ceremony to launch the dashboard where Minister of IT Aminul Haque, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, and others were present.

The premier instructed the Ministry of Information Technology to make the dashboard for real-time monitoring of relief being provided to flood victims more credible and transparent as per international standards.

The inauguration ceremony of the dashboard was then postponed as PM Shehbaz suggested some important improvements to it.

The prime minister was briefed that the dashboard had been designed to provide information to the general public about the local and international assistance being received and disbursed amongst the flood victims.

After a detailed briefing on flood-related relief activities by various departments, the prime minister also directed to hold a conference of international donors on Thursday to request them for arranging the most needed food items, medicines, and shelters.

A website for assisting flood victims, a comprehensive flood relief management system, digital applications for field workers, and an executive dashboard for policy and decision-making are also included in the flood response system.
