Shahbaz Gill’s bail plea rejected
ISLAMABAD: A district and sessions court in Islamabad rejected on Tuesday PTI leader Shahbaz Gill’s plea for interim bail in a sedition case filed against him.
On August 9, Gill was arrested and was subsequently booked on charges of sedition and inciting members of state institutions against the Pakistan Army.
On August 25, Gill filed a bail petition in the sessions court Islamabad. He is currently in jail on judicial remand on charges of sedition and inciting mutiny in the army following his controversial remarks.
Gill in his bail plea stated that case against him was registered on a political basis and his remarks were distorted and taken in the wrong context.
