Rana Sanaullah booked under terrorism charges

A case has been registered against interior minister for threatening the judiciary and government officials

Interior Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Rana Sanaullah has been booked under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (punishment for acts of terrorism) on Thursday.

A case has been registered against the interior minister in Gujarat’s Industrial Area police station, Punjab Home Minister Colonel (retd) Hasim Dogar said on Twitter.

He said that the First Information Report (FIR) had been launched against the federal minister for threatening the honorable judiciary and government officials.

“The charges framed in the FIR are serious and action will be taken in accordance with the law,” the home minister added.

Earlier on Sunday, an FIR had been launched against PTI Chairperson Imran Khan for threatening top police officials and a female judge.

Imran Khan is accused of inciting public revolt against the judiciary, the armed forces and police in a speech he made August 20.

He was booked in the Margalla police station under Section 7 of the anti-terrorism laws. He made remarks against Additional Sessions Judge, Islamabad, Zeba Chaudhry.

Later on Monday, the Islamabad High Court granted Imran Khan a three-day transit bail and directed him to appear before the relevant court after three days.

On the other hand, while speaking on Aaj News program “Faisla Aap Ka”, Sanaullah alleged that Imran Khan had committed terrorism, saying that threatening public servants was terrorism.

“Imran Khan has targeted institutions,” the minister said, adding that he [Imran Khan] should not have threatened the female judge.

Imran Khan granted bail over threatening speech

Earlier today, an Islamabad anti-terrorism court granted bail to the PTI chief till September 1 over the threatening speech.
