Imran gets three-day pre-arrest bail in terrorism case
**ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court granted on Monday pre-arrest bail to PTI chief Imran Khan, who was booked under Section 7 (punishment for acts of terrorism) of the Anti-Terrorism Act over threats to Islamabad police officers and a female magistrate during Saturday’s rally.
Acting Chief Justice Aamir Farooq headed the division bench that granted Imran’s plea for pre-arrest bail.
“A terrorism case was registered against PTI chairman [Imran Khan] yesterday, but the petitioner has no previous criminal record,” said the petition moved by party lawyers Babar Awan and Faisal Chaudhry.
They requested the court to approve the bail application and expressed readiness for the investigation involved in the case.
Registrar office raises objection plea
The registrar office has raised three objections to the pre-arrest bail application of PTI chief Imran Khan, sources said.
Imran did not get his biometrics done, they said and wondered how the PTI chairman approached the high court instead of the Anti-Terrorism Court. A certified copy of the terrorism case was also not provided.
