Four held for harassing foreign women during Independence Day celebrations

ISLAMABAD: Police on Tuesday arrested four suspects for harassing foreign women during the Independence Day celebrations.

The four main suspects have been arrested and the videos related to the harassment of two foreign women at Shakar Parian have also been recovered from their possession, a spokesperson of the Islamabad police said.

All the accused, seen in the videos present at the spot, were being identified with the help of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), the spokesperson said adding that the elements involved in such a heinous act and bringing disgrace to the country will face strict legal action.

Yesterday, Inspector General Islamabad Akbar Nasir Khan took strict notice of the incident of harassment of foreign women.

Following IG’s directions, Islamabad Police registered the case in the Abpara police station and initiated an investigation into the matter.
