The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to file a judicial reference against the chief election commissioner.

The decision was taken at an important party leadership meeting chaired by party head Imran Khan in which Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Fawad Chaudhry, Babar Awan, Shireen Mazari, Farrukh Habib, Shahbaz Gul and others participated.

The decision to file a judicial reference was made after the Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja’s meeting with the government delegation in the foreign funding case.

The participants expressed serious concern over the role of the ECP, particualrly its office-holders meeting with the government delegation.

The party leadership said that the CEC flouted the electoral code of conduct, upon which Imran Khan decided to file a judicial reference against him,

The party also announced action against the election commissions in the provincial governments as well.

On multiple occasions and in public addresses, Imran Khan has accused the PML-N of having the election commission in its pocket.
