  • Petrol has become more expensive as the government again increased its price by Rs14 per litre, bringing the new price near to 250. At least Rs99 have been increased in the petrol price over a month. People have rejected such an increase.

Like their previous rhetoric, the coalition government blames the PTI for such a decision. The Imran-led government had broken its agreement with the IMF, finance czar Miftah Ismail said. The development comes against the backdrop of a fall in crude oil prices in the global market.

  • At least 694 cases of coronavirus were reported over the last 24 hours, according to the National Institute of Health. The Covid positivity rate stood at 3.93%.

  • The Punjab Assembly would meet on Friday (today) again for the recount of votes for the election held for the chief minister on April 16, excluding the 25 votes of PTI dissidents, as per the Lahore court orders. Hamza had informed about the “numbers game” in the assembly to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz in a phone call.

PTI chief Imran Khan has decided to move the Supreme Court against the LHC decision. He has contended the candidacy of Hamza as the CM.
