ISLAMABAD: The Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment confirmed on Wednesday that 2,358 Overseas Employment Promoters had valid licenses out of the total 4,685 registered with it.

An official source told APP that a total of 4,685 Overseas Employment Promoters (OEPs) registered with the BEOE but only 2,358 companies were valid and 148 were invalid, 172 licenses were cancelled, 1,256 were expired and 724 firms had surrendered their permits.

The Bureau is the regulatory body that controls, regulates, facilitates and monitors emigration followed by OEPs, in the private sector.

The BEOE collects emigration data of Pakistanis who go abroad for jobs.
