How to stay safe from Covid-19?

PMA’s Dr Sajjad shares his suggestions

KARACHI: People infected with viral diseases should avoid self-medication and get rest, suggested Dr Qaiser Sajjad, the secretary general of the Pakistan Medical Association, on Wednesday.

Dr Sajjad, who is also an ENT surgeon, had joined the Aaj News morning show to speak on the prevailing diseases and rising cases of Covid-19. Describing his suggestions as the “only treatment”, he recommended a few methods when someone gets infected.

  • Rest
  • Good diet
  • Increased intake of water
  • Proper night sleep which is around 8 to 9 hours if someone is sick
  • Seven to eight hours of sleep is a must
  • Don’t take self-medication

How to have strong immunity?

Lamenting the ongoing lifestyle with online services, he stressed the need for having a nourishing diet to boost the immune system. He bemoaned increased intake of junk foods, which he touted as “dangerous”, no physical activity like walking, and food deliveries at home.
