‘Historic’ inflows in Roshan Digital has PM Shehbaz beaming
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has paid tribute and expressed gratitude to Pakistanis living abroad for sending $57 million to Pakistan in one, setting a new record for the State Bank’s largest inflow in a single day.
The State Bank Of Pakistan in a tweet announced the highest one day deposits to the Roshan Digital Account.
In a tweet, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked the expat community for putting their trust in the government. He added, “Our government stands firmly behind the Roshan Digital Account shceme.”
He wrote that the total deposits have now crossed $4.5 billion in the Roshan Digital Account, after the $57 million remitted in a single day.
PM Shahbaz said that he thanked Pakistanis abroad for sending record amount of money in one day. Overseas Pakistanis are a precious asset for the country. They have always supported the national economy through their contributions. The government promises to work its way through these difficult times.
“I thank overseas Pakistanis for reposing their trust in the motherland,” said the prime minister.
He said that he is confident Pakistanis living abroad would continue to help Pakistan in the future with the same sincere spirit. The government is taking various steps to facilitate Pakistanis living abroad.
