LUMS alumnus Qasim Awan shot dead by dacoits in capital
KARACHI: A young LUMS alumnus and Food Panda executive Qasim Awan was shot at F-9 park on June 5 during a mugging attempt in Islamabad.
Qasim, who was the only child of his parents, was shot at F-9 Park on the night of June 5 in an armed robbery. He was treated at PIMS Hospital.
He struggled for two days but succumbed to his injuries.
Qasim graduated from Lahore University of Management Sciences with a degree in Economics and then started working as a manager at Food Panda. Qasim was a resident of Awan Town near Multan Road in Lahore, where his funeral prayers will be offered.
According to an acquaintance, he decided to stay and work in Pakistan while the majority of his batch-mates had left the country.
Umar Imam who was the victim’s childhood friend has expressed grief. “Qasim Awan was my childhood friend and gym partner… He left us very soon.”

IG Islamabad has formed a team under the DIG Operations. No arrests have been made.
