Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif vowed that he would cut bureaucratic hurdles impeding the productivity of Japanese investors in Pakistan.

“The government officials and ministers will discuss with you the issues that are impeding productivity,” the prime minister said, while addressing a delegation of Japanese investors in Islamabad on Monday.

The premier said: “Japan is one of the largest donors of Pakistan and has contributed a pure and generous amount of $13 billions in seven decades to the country without involvement of political strings.”

He recalled the mushroom growth of Japanese companies in the country in 1980s in various sectors.

PM Shehbaz said he wanted to increase Japan International Cooperation Agency’s (JICA) already thriving involvement in Pakistan.

The prime minister lauded “untiring efforts” of Japan and Germany for rebuilding their nations after World War II and said those were the “highest quality commitments”.
