A no-confidence motion submitted against Chief Minister Balochistan Abdul Quddus Bizenjo failed on Thursday after movers of the motion could not produce the required number of lawmakers in favor of the motion.

As per the Constitution, the support of 20 percent of members of the assembly is required to table the no-confidence motion against the leader of the House.

Only 11 members voted in favour of the no-trust motion against the required number of 13 members during the provincial assembly session presided by Deputy Speaker Sardar Babar Khan Musakhel.

On May 18, Balochistan’s former chief exective and Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) leader Jam Kamal Khan along with other dissidents the PTI and ANP submitted the no-confidence motion against Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, who is from the same party.

The no-trust motion submitted by BAP and its allies had the signatures of 14 members. But during today’s session, only 11 lawmakers supported it.

Balochistan’s acting Governor Jan Jamali summoned the provincial ssembly session to allow the dissident lawmakers to table the no-trust motion before the members of the constitutional assembly for its approval.

“No-trust motion part of politics”

Talking to the media in Quetta on Thursday after foiling the no-trust motion, Balochistan CM Bizenjo said that he was making efforts to reunite his party.

He said that he would also contact those lawmakers who brought the no-confidence motion against him, adding that the move was part of politics.
