Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf was leading the country toward anarchy and that the party was spoiling for a bloody fight in the federal capital.

Speaking exclusively on the Aaj News program Faisla Aap Ka, the minister said it was illegal to hold a rally to remove any government by unconstitutional means.

The defense minister said that there was a strong possibility that those PTI activists who were brought to Islamabad had weapons, adding that the party was planning to spill blood at its Islamabad protest.

Speaking about the Monday night raids in Lahore’s Model Town, Asif alleged that PTI’s men had martyred an unarmed police constable, adding that the politics of violence was equally condemnable.

Asif said that the government will fully defend the state’s writ and Imran Khan would not be allowed to be successful in his agenda.

He said that every individual of the country and institution of the state would be on the same page to stop the party’s ‘armed groups’ trying to spread anarchy in the country, adding that threats to the country’s integrity would be dealt with an iron fist

The PML-N leader said that Imran Khan was demanding early elections because he was a ‘power hungry’ man. “Should the 12 or 13 political parties bow down to the wishes of one person.”

He said that when former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was removed from power he accepted the decision and surrendered himself before the law.
