Islamabad IGP Ahsan Younas removed over Sindh House attack, Parliament Lodges operation
The government has removed Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ahsan Younas from his post and appointed Dr Akbar Nasir Khan as the new IGP of the federal capital.
A police operation in the Parliament lodges on March 10 and an attack on the Sindh House in Islamabad on March 19 was cited as reasons for the removal.
The Establishment Division issued a notification stating that Younas’s services were placed at the “disposal of the government of Punjab with immediate effect”.
Khan was serving as a BS-20 officer in National Counter Terrorism Authority.
