PTI govt was removed as part of an "international conspiracy", says Imran Khan
Former prime minister and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan said that the conspiracy against him was hatched when the country was heading in the right direction and things were getting better, Aaj News reported on Monday.
Speaking to the reporters during an informal conversation at his Banigala residence, Khan said that the PTI government was removed as part of an "international conspiracy".
Khan further said that the military was onboard over the Russia visit, adding that he had telephoned Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa before his visit to the country.
Speaking about dissident PTI allies, Khan said that he had learned his lesson after giving tickets to the allies, as there are no allies in politics.
Reference against Justice Qazi Faez Esa
The PTI chairman said that he should not have filed the reference against Justice Qazi Faiz Esa but further stated that the reference came forth from the Law Minister.
The PTI Chairman further said that he has no personal enmity with anyone, adding that the then law minister had briefed on Justice Isa's properties and assets.
Toshakhana controversy
Imran Khan while referring to the Toshakhana Case, stated that all the records of the Toshakhana were available.
The issue came to light last week when Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Imran Khan, during his tenure, sold Toshakhana gifts in Dubai worth Rs140 million.
"I deposited a gift sent by a president at my residence. I purchased the gifts after paying 50% of the cost," Khan said, adding that the PTI government changed the policy of retaining gifts and increased the price to 50%.
