Six die in rickshaw, truck collision in Rajanpur
At least six people died when a truck collided with a rickshaw on Indus Highway in Rajanpur city of Punjab province, Aaj News reported.
The deceased were identified as Fayyaz Ahmed, Mukhtiar, Ali Baksh, Azeem, Amjad Ali, and Nisar Ali.
Around six people travelling in a rickshaw were travelling to Rajanpur vegetable market from Rojhan when an overspeeding truck, which was trying to take overtake, hit it near Umerkot. At least five people died on the spot while another succumbed to his wounds on way to the hospital.
The truck driver managed to escape from the site of the incident. However, the Umerkot Police Station has registered a case and taken the truck in its possession.
Meanwhile, at least three labourers died because of a lack of oxygen supply after falling into a pit in Rajanpur. The three labourers had jumped into the pit to rescue a donkey. All the bodies were sent to the hospital.
