After PML-Q, Rashid hopeful of MQM-P support on no-trust motion
Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid on Tuesday said that voting on the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan will take place on Sunday, April 3, while lawmakers would discuss the motion in the National Assembly when it reconvenes on Thursday, March 31.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Rashid also lauded PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervez Elahi for throwing his weight behind PM Imran Khan on the no-trust vote. The PTI has offered the chief ministership to Elahi in return for the support.

"Chaudhry Pervez Elahi's statement of last night...sent a very strong message," said Rashid, while adding that it was his hope that the MQM-P -- PTI's other ally that is also being courted by both the government and the opposition - also supports the government on the no-trust vote.
As per media reports, the PTI has offered MQM the ports and shipping ministry as well as the Sindh governor's slot in return for support.
Terrorist bid foiled
The interior minister also revealed that timely action by the country's law-enforcement agencies, including the counter-terrorism department (CTD), had averted a major attack on political rallies taking place in Islamabad.
"Four terrorists of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, including suicide bombers, planning an attack on political rallies in Islamabad have been arrested," he said during the press conference.
The police also seized a cache of weapons including 450 grams of ball bearings, half a kg of explosives, two detonators along with weapons. "One terrorist was able to escape," he added.

The interior minister also revealed that authorities had killed four other terrorists involved in the suicide attack at an imambargah in Peshawar earlier this month that claimed at least 57 lives.
